Swami Sivananda (spiritual teacher, 1887 – 1963)

Why do we do the 12 basic hatha postures in a Sivananda class? And what does pranayama (breathing exercises) do for our body and mind? What is the meaning of the opening and concluding mantra's? In this foundation course we will find answers to these (and more) questions, while listening but more importantly by expériencing. Our guideline throughout the course will be the 5 points of yoga; proper Exercise, proper Breathing, proper Relaxation, proper Diet, and Positive Thinking & Meditation. We'll explore how these 5 basic yoga principles can be integrated in your own daily life.

For whom? If you are already practicing Sivananda based hatha classes, this course allows you to dive deeper into your practice and to learn more about its background. But also if you are completely new to yoga, it provides you both theory ánd practice as a foundation for your own yoga journey.
